Sex/Life 2 Review – It Gets Even More Absurd!

If you have watched Season 1 of Sex/Life and are planning to watch the second one, chances are a good narrative is not what you are looking for!
This is one of the most absurd shows ever and Season 2 gets even more ridiculous. The characters are very poorly written and they have no arc. The best way to talk about this show would be in terms of best sex scene, or mostly lazily written character ever. The latter award will go to Brad even though the competition is tough.
At the end of last season bored housewife with two kids, Billie goes back to her super-hot ex-boyfriend Brad after fantasizing about him for eight episodes. Billie’s husband, Cooper is also very good-looking and rich and nice, but the heart wants what it wants!
Well maybe not the heart but other part(s)…
In the beginning of Season 2, we get to know that Brad is having a baby with his supermodel girlfriend Gigi and is no longer available to Billie. Billie is single for two seconds until she finds Majid who is not as hot as Cooper or Brad but Billie doesn’t care as long as it is something new!
So now Billie is with Majid. Cooper is with his boss Francesca. And Brad is with Gigi. Except that no one is really with anyone, and everybody is cheating on everyone. There is a separate track of Sasha gaining fame with her image of an independent woman influencer while trying to balance her dependency on Kam for love. There are some idiotic quotes on feminism and women empowerment which add nothing to the plot, just like every other bizarre thing that is going on in this sex fest for six episodes.
Trina is probably the only interesting character on the show. I wish the writers had invested some time and thought into her track, but she is not given much to do. Cooper’s character was okay in Season 1 but this time they messed him so badly. Probably to make Brad look better, so Billie’s choices can be justified. I found Cooper crush worthy in Season 1 but in Season 2 he is so annoying. I felt bad for Billie’s kids.
I find this show better than Fifty Shades of Grey series ,365 Dias and Dark Desire because at least they don’t pretend to add unnecessary sub-plots and a back story. The show remains true to what it is –  light, shallow and meaningless!
Moral of the story – Sex with any one person gets boring so keep exploring. But also believe in love and marriage and keep having babies even though you don’t have a clue what you want from life! If you are lucky like Billie and Brad and Cooper you will keep finding people to love and **** with minimal consequences of your actions.
Maybe this is why the show works because it has created this fantasy land with endless opportunities.  While regular people struggle to find one dateable person, this sexy trio always has a couple of backups lined up with no dry spell in between.
The show works mainly because the lead characters are all so exceptionally good-looking and easy on the eyes. And honestly, who doesn’t want to watch a bunch of good-looking people shed their clothes and get even hotter!
P.S.: Thumbs up for gender equality. Ample male nudity if not more!!!
